In 2007, a group of men and women from Kenya saw a need to increase access to services and facilities for the orphans, street kids and general community of Kisii, Kenya.

After careful consultation with orphanages, children's centres, government and local community leaders, a close by village in the Kisii region was selected to establish a centre for street kids and orphans.

Our first goal is to secure a plot of land in the area and construct our first buildings to begins our programs. Whilst we are waiting for ample funds to purchase the land, community classes are being held for the local children and we are endeavouring to meet their basic needs of food and water.

AVCH have extensive experience working with the orphaned and vulnerable children of the Ksii region, and employ both local Kenyan and international staff. We will be welcoming volunteers to come and assist us in our projects from August 2008.

We are currently awaiting registration with the Kenyan government for NGO status, which we anticipate will be awarded in the near future.
